![]() Bonobo’s aesthetic is so defined and similar to my musical taste. Definitely one of my idols when it comes to making cross genre music. He’s able to build a beat up from nothing, making it swell into and overwhelming force composed of numerous layers of sound, then he breaks it down to nothing again in a matter of seconds. The synths all shimmer over top of a tribal-sounding house beat. This record “The North Borders” has a driving, icy sound to it. It’s a dense rainforest next to a beautiful ocean. The atmosphere on his record “Black Sands” is exactly like the album cover suggests. However, he mixes so well that all the elements are distinguishable if you’re listening closely.
