I get the same 'connection Timed Out' when trying C&C3 on LAN play. Before the box has always been blank and I was unable to type in any numbers!ĪOE III links up great.so why all this hassle with BFME II ? The port 27901 appeared in my port entry in the settings>network section. One good think I noticed when doing this options.ini correctiomn. I have also tried opening all the recommended ports for BFME II but still get the 'Connection Timed Out' So if both computers are connected identically (ADSL modem> 4 way Hub>ethernet to both PCs) would I put both LAN IPs in, when specifying port forward details ? (which results in 2 entries) UDP 27901 to 27901 (port example in the options.ini mod advice) When your specifying your LAN IP in the port forwarding section of your router page, do I put the LAN IP of both Computers or just mine (Because if one PC couldn't Host then we would try the second PC hosting and I join them instead)ġ92.168.1.64 (LAN IPof my PC! other PC is 192.168.1.65) One question (might be a daft one so please bear with me) Now after these INI modifications, the other computer cant see me atall never mind join (and vice versa) I was unable to see the other computer atall (not in the lobby nor after they created a game!) The 27901 port specified in the 4 lines has been opened on the router.īefore, I was getting 'Connection Timed Out' when the other computer joined me. I didn't have any lines in my Options.ini that quoted 'firewall' so i just added the 4 lines at the end I have modified the options.ini file as advised on the FAQ here (with the 4 lines that replace any Firewall related lines in the. Tried SP2 firewall off on both PCs (it's normally off on my PC as I have Sysgate Firewall) All exceptions are allowed for the game inc the game.dat files. One PC has a sysgate firewall and the other the SP2 Windows firewall. I have opened up the BFME II appropiate ports and allowed both games on the firewall. I have 2 BFME II (Frustrating where you fork out for 2 and cant LAN play!) I have 2 PCs both connected to the BT Voyager 220v via a 4-way Netgear Hub.Īll connections are via ethernet cables and the Modem is an ADSL modem.
